Our Miss A. is in need of a new, more grown-up desk, and her old desk will be going to the twins. As she's reached the grand age of eight, a new favourite colour has emerged - blue. Currently I have a new favourite store in the UK called Made and they has have the most fabulous (modern) items on offer and I am seriously thinking that this Cornell desk in Robin Egg Blue just could be the winner for our girl.
I like the sleek design and the soft curves of the desk, yet at the same time it's not the most practical for a young girl who has a lot of stuff, but I am hoping that she would be able to keep the desk clean and manage her stuff collection, but a little help from some sort of additional storage just might be needed...
How suitable is it to be dreaming of a fab sauna when the forecast is snow again and the possibility that UK runs out of gas (and therefore heating) is rather dire. Now what an unusual, but so stylish is this sauna with is glass wall and living room-like set of up wooden armchairs and foot stools.
I haven't quite decided if this could be the ultimate sauna design, or just a tad too weird. What do you think?
A lovely selection of French cheese made me dream of the lovely island of Corsica, which I have always wanted to visit. A light and airy modern villa like this in Corsica seems like a dream come true. Oh lovely house, I dream of thee today...
This is one unusual house, and it does make one wonder if the owner has seen one too many zombie movies and decided to create the super-safe haven in case the world comes under their attack...
Anyway, this house is actually architecturally very interesting as it has movable walls and a drawbridge. When the blinds are up and windows open, it is a light-filled glass fronted modern marvel, and I guess when guests are not desired (or the owners are out of town) it comes one big challenge for the local burglars.
...but would you feel safe sleeping in the house and having everything closed, or would it give you a bit of a claustrophobic feeling?
This wall-box is the creation of London-based Sebastian Bergne and it's fab-looking piece of modern art with a functional purpose - you can use it as a little piggy-bank or storage for other precious little things. And if you are wondering about the shape - it really is the digestive system. Got to love it - art and function combined, and watching money or other objects find their way down is bound to be good entertainment for all!

I am at least a little bit in love with this house and it's modern design, pretty location and those hi-tech features built into it. There is plenty of open space (and should be with all its 11000 sq ft/1020 m2 of space!).
Oh, now I am just gazing adoringly to that kitchen and its three (!) brushed chrome islands. That is such an "oh la la" moment, especially when I now have the whole kitchen the size of one of those islands... And of course, as a fan of water features that indoor swimming pool would just be the coolest thing, especially as there is even more in terms of a home gym/spa area. I'll be having sweet house dream tonight for sure...
I never thought of Holiday Inns as very exciting places to stay, but I might have to change my mind - at least with this new hotel they have in Shanghai, China. It has a very interesting (and scary I say) cantilevered swimming pool on the 24th floor.
Combine the pool with a glass bottom and you are basically swimming high above the street with great views both up and down. I certainly hope that the engineers did their structural calculations well - this just might give me some extra heart palpitations if I was to try to swim in it. That said, this is going on my hotel shortlist for our upcoming visit to Shanghai - something new and certainly exciting to try...

This is wine rack love - this minimalist and modular STACT wall wine rack is like a piece of art and just perfect for a modern home! It comes in several finishes and grows with the collection, so it is just a perfect piece for growing one's collection. I love it!

This modern bathroom just looks absolutely fantastic. It's spacious, geometric, and most definitely filled with light at day time. It's also a black and white statement with a sunken bath and all-glass walls.
The room definitely brings the outdoor inside, although personally I might be feeling like being in an aquarium - especially at night time...
Enter Hush, a funky-looking chair, which lets you hide and rest in a womb-like woollen environment. And it looks cool. Probably feels great too as there are pillows inside too. This new creation by designer Freyja Sewell is pretty cool altogether and I certainly fancy it!
How great is this kitchen - so full of fresh yellow and light green tones. It has a sleek modern design on white canvas to start with, and with the additon of the lighting and furniture matching to the shades of the units, the whole rooms just flows and is full of positive energy. Love all this happiness!

This modern loft is like a breath of fresh air and has many fun and unusual details - like this netting instead of a balustrade.
I also like the box-type shelving that covers the whole wall in the living area, and the simple lines of the kitchen, and...pretty much everything!
This is product love - the Flow summer series from Botanist. They have a soft survy modern design and those delectable summer colours of hot fuchsia, fresh aqua and more - and it has anti-theft feet (whatever that means, but I hate of having things stolen from the garden).
if you are looking for local (American-made product you got it here. And even better, the sale benefits the Special Olympics, so even more reasons to buy these fab benches!

This is staircase love - a cool, modern design, which looks like dripping ice to me. And the calmin colour scape of white and grey.
The area is open, spacious and natural, and I spot those cool stone-looking pillows too. Just beautiful!
This is a new one for me - how cool is it combine the high-rise living and great views and have some outdoor space - even a little pool. Way cool I think. This apartment in Kuala Lumpur looks great and like a fun place to live in.
What do you think about the cute kitchen splash-back - not sure if it's mosaic or stained glass but looks pretty nice to me anyway!

I've promised many friends to provide frequent updates from our European Adventures - so here's yet another one. We are now in Estonia, but the weather is not with us; the forecast has changed into lots of rain the coming days so we might need to change some plans.
Thankfully we are in a spa, so there is plenty to do, and we get to enjoy many spa treatments here too...
Poor little Hugo managed to get ear infections, but he didn't mind a visit to the doctors - especially as the waiting area was filled with toys and this kind of lighthouse to play with! And maybe I should also mention that Finland a great place to visit a doctor, as a private one even without an insurance is pretty cheap - and the doctors are great!
The old buildings in Turku (Finland) are so pretty
More gorgeous Turku views
The museum has a majestic position on a hill
Picture this, the seas were a bit stormy for our ferry, so imagine this little boat out in the open seas...
Enter the harbour of Tallinn - filled with large cruise ships
Cozy and modern lobby of Kalev Spa. we try to pick a different place every time. This has a great modern decor (love those floor tiles) and the spa is geared more for kids with water slides and things...

This is such a cute little building - a sauna by a lake with a curvy, grassy roof. It is so natural that even deer has been spotted wandering there. The interior is also lovely, with an old-fashioned round, ship-like little bedroom and an open kitchen-living room are. Aw, everything's just so nice and fresh!
Ok, where to start. Love, love, love that dining set - especially the cute bench in the picture.
After a recent visit to friends house we have decided that we need at least one bench on the side where the kids will be sitting. Whatever magical powers the bench holds I don't know, but during our visit it made the kids behave super well and eat tons too (I am sure that the tasty home-made pizza played its' role too).
This bench and the whole set has a simple, sleek design, and the tone is just so perfect too. The rest of the house won't pale in comparison either: space, volume, natural surfaces, great design and more fantastic decor picks. I for sure adore it all!

You are the sunshine of my life...With bright yellow, hi-gloss cabinets combined with brushed chrome in appliances, statement wood tops and sort of a splash-back wall and sleek, modern lines. A room not to be easily forgotten: it is happy and bright even on dull grey days! A very daring colour combination indeed. Love it, but I think it stil might be too much of colour to ever enter our household...

I think this penthouse apartment deserves a few oh la las. It is just stunning masterpiece of Japanese minimalism (although lot of materials and furniture is Italian made), yet it doesn't feel cold or empty because of all the natural elements. Ultra-modern, but there is that feel of traditionalism. And clearly the house is connected to the modern-day gadgets and have stunning lighting solutions.
Oh, and did I mention the closets? It beautiful, spacious and look at all those shoes - so easily available yet hidden...I wonder if I could get my kids to hide their toys at the end of day also and be able to enjoy this kind of freedom from excess stuff, yet without having to rid of all this stuff we might sometimes want to use...

A modern screen - fit for both indoors and outdoors. Sticks is a cute and fun creation - modern design but at the same time one very natural with an old-fashioned feel.
Add some lights at night, and this screen feels like a piece of art. Definitely a cool find!

I'm loving this house. Modern, open, spacious and filled with light. Floor to ceiling windows opening to the garden, and an interior of a white canvas accentuated with grey and black. Cute knitted poufs, soft and shimmery textiles...
A beautiful home? Yes definitely, and it looks like a great home for kids to run around, and the family to enjoy living in it and hosting parties for friends. A haven for a family!

Somebody please find a house like this for us to rent (and furnished too with this sort of cool style). I am pretty sure something similar can be found on the market here, but sadly not in the area where we are looking for and now with the budget we got in hand.
So it's time to dream again, and this is just the right house for it - a traditional style but with a very modern flair, filled with light and with lots of height and open space. Just beautiful!
This lamp is really nice, it looks like some sort of upside-down vegetable
I see them in a real house (see my post yesterday), Zen-looking stone pillows. Looks great!
Great barstools and the island has a fun detail on the base
So soft and sweet, very girly without being pink. Definitely need to write down this colout and propose it to our future landlord!
Such a classic scene, but the design is quite modern
This bathroom is very natural and Zen. Like it!
A scee I love. Huge blackboard wall for the kids and Aarnio puppys. Colour and cuteness!
I've seen this life-size horse-lamp in a store. Someone actually has it in their home. Very bold, and you need a big space to house this. Bet this is not easily moved around though...
Oh wow. Beautiful design. My favourite space in this house
Very impressive entrance. Dark wood always looks good

I love houses with courtyards, but one doesn't see them very often as they need to be rather large in size. This Chinese house built using the traditional design but with modern interior is a lovely one, and I would definitely love to live in a house like this. It is filled with soft tones, texture and simple lines, yet it doesn't feel cold or empty.
Some of the great things about this house are the different levels on the ceiling as this makes the house more interesting and less clinical to me. I also love the dark wood floor boards. those contrasting large, white floor tiles and that textures silvery wall - and not to forget the grey silk-covered wall fabrics, which add light and reflection to the room. This is one beautiful house!
